Mark is a 45 year old Tongan truck-driver. His height is 180cm, weight 145kg, BMI 44.8. He suffers from sleep apnoea, diabetes, and high blood pressure. His father passed away from a heart attack at a relatively early age and he is worried about his children. He is interested in weight loss and heard about medications and surgery but unsure which way to proceed.

Stephanie is a 26 year old teacher. Her family immigrated to NZ from Malaysia when she was 12. Her height is 165cm, weight 78kg, BMI 28.7. She has struggled with weight all her life and has been diagnosed with high cholesterol and PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). She has heard about weight loss medications but does not know where to start.

Ashley is a 42 year old mother of three with Māori heritage. She has had bariatric surgery 10 years ago (gastric sleeve). Her heaviest weight was 130kg. She successfully lost weight to 80kg at her lowest weight but started to gain weight 3 years after surgery. Now she weighs 110kg and Ashley is very worried she will return to her heaviest weight. She has tried changing her diet and exercise again but finds it increasingly difficult as time goes by. She is interested in what can be done to help her lose weight again.

Liam is a 55 year old NZ European male who is not currently working. He has gained weight every year in his adult life, and he now currently weighs 190kg. He is worried about his future life, and he is finding it increasingly difficult to look after himself and get around. He is wondering about bariatric surgery. He needs support from an obesity specialist for pre-operative weight loss and guide him in the right path.

Sarah is a 61 year old retired accountant. Her height is 158cm, weight 90kg. She had a normal weight in her 20s but gained weight in each of her two pregnancies and gained a lot more weight during menopause. She has now more time for herself and thinking about weight loss treatment. She has tried multiple diet programs, some medications, but struggles to lose weight and maintain it in the long term. She incredibly frustrated and is looking for answers.
